Alcovy Neurology, PC's mission is to provide expert, high-quality, personalized care for patients age 15-100+. 


We are a one physician and two nurse practitioner practice located on Highway 81 in Loganville, Georgia, next to Meridian Park. We utilize state-of-the-art equipment to aid in both diagnosis and treatment of many neurological conditions.


Dr. Lacayo is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  Our board-certified nurse practitioners, Amy Hill and Terri Kopp, consult with the attending physician in order to provide informed, consistent care at all times.

Amy Hill,  FNP-C

About Us

​Amy Hill was born in Florida but grew up in North Carolina. Mrs. Hill moved to Georgia to be closer to her twin sister and her family. She is married with 4 children and 1 grandchild. Amy enjoys spending time with her children, nieces and nephews. She loves to bake, swim and bowl in her free time.  She graduated from Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham, NC in 1997. Amy Hill graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 2001 from Richmond Community College in North Carolina. She started working as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department in North Carolina. She then returned to school and completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing, December 2015 from Western Governors University. Mrs. Hill received her Masters of Science in Nursing from South University in June 2018. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked for 17 years as a registered nurse in the emergency room in North Carolina, California, Arizona, and Georgia. She has also worked in ICU, Medical Surgical Floor, Home Health, Staff Education and Home Infusion Therapy.

Dr. Juan C. Lacayo is a board-certified Neurologist trained in Georgia. After graduating from Bradwell Institute high school in Liberty County, Dr. Lacayo received his BS in Biology from Georgia Southern University and earned his MD at Medical College of Georgia. Following medical school, Dr. Lacayo completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Lacayo was long intrigued with the complexity of the human brain and nervous system and pursued a Neurology Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.


For a three year tour, Dr. Lacayo (Major) practiced Neurology in the US Air Force, assigned to the 3rd Wing, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. He was instrumental in establishing the first Sleep Clinic in the Pacific Air Command.


In July 2011, Dr. Lacayo combined his love for Neurology and his love for the people and state of Georgia and returned home to create Alcovy Neurology, PC featuring up to date neurological expertise and enhanced technological access for patients. Dr. Lacayo seeks to foster a two way relationship with all his patients and to provide personal care.


Dr. Lacayo is married with four children. He enjoys traveling, playing soccer, and spending time with his family.

​Francisco Thor Fiol was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He graduated with his A.A. in Exercise Science from Santa Fe College in 2013 and transferred to the University of Florida where he graduated with his B.S. in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology in 2015. He took a gap year to gain further medical experience working at the Fixel Institute for Neurologic Disease at UF Health (Gainesville, FL) before applying for physician assistant school. He graduated from Advent Health University in Orlando, FL in 2019 with his M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies and proceeded to move to Daytona Beach, Florida to work at Neurology Associates of Ormond Beach for a few years. He then moved to the area in 2022 with his fiancé and worked at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in the Pediatric Neurology department before finding work closer to home at Alcovy Neurology.


His interest towards neurology started while at Santa Fe College and was furthered while attending the University of Florida and continues to appreciate the challenge that neurologic diseases pose. 


He and his fiancé are getting married in August 2024 and have a dog and two cats at home. You can regularly catch him cheering on the Florida Gators and Tampa Bay Area teams, fishing at the beach or lake, or working on projects around the house.
